As someone who has literally lived through Victor's life, (my family comes from Portugal) and has had to deal with the religious mother and the benji boyfriend who had a problem with alcohol, I just wanna say that I don't get some people in the comments. Yeah, Benji was going through some stuff, but that does NOT excuse the way he was treating Victor. He was being a bad boyfriend. And those are the facts. Granted, Victor didn't fair much better, but when we all saw his mom was changing, even Victor saw it, Benji just flat out refused to see it and shut Victor down at every turn with his mom. Also, you guys telling me that you would talk to your partner's mother like that?
I have my theories about Benjis future and his mommy issues/alcoholism and why we haven’t gotten much about his backstory BUT IM SAVING IT FOR THE LAST 2 EPISODES

Thank god there is someone who understands benji's perspective cuz just this morning i saw so many people hating on him and it ruined my mood… He's a teenager and has issues already yet he tried his best to understand Victor's mom and her homophobia but how much can you expect him to do? On top of that,victor telling rahim about benji's problems was absolutely not okay. Benji was literally ashamed of it all n vic just went on to tell it to a stranger. Ngl if i was benji,i would've screamed at vic's mom in ep 1 itself. Benji wasn't exactly pure or good or anything but he isn't the bad guy everyone painted him to be. I've seen ppl call him racist too,which i genuinely don't understand how.
